The band consists of four self-professed 'highly talented individuals' (!), each with a deep passion for music, especially all things Purple (not surprisingly).       Unable to find a suitable vocalist, the band decided to give up the search remain as a four-piece.

The band members have all played in other bands - not necessarily playing rock music.       "Obviously, when you play an instrument, you want to play music you're into, but that's not always possible and playing other styles of music can be really beneficial to you as a musician.       Nick's played in jazz bands and even fills in for bands sometimes.       To get up on stage and jam an entire set of material without knowing any of it is just incredible - I could never do that!       But if you ask him I'm sure he'd say it's made him a better and more confident drummer."

Neil, Nick and Jeremy, having known each other for many years spoke about 'doing the Purple thing' many times, "....but we couldn't find a decent vocalist or guitarist who shared our passion for the band...."

"We finally decided to stop talking and start doing something about it and we managed to find Paul.       Once we heard him play, that was it - he's just incredible - he doesn't just have the technical ability, but he's got real soul and feel to his playing as well."

"And he definitely looks the part!"

"We all get on really well too - which is really important - that's one of the reasons why we decided to stay as a four-piece."

The band don't look like the original members and made a conscious decision not to go down that road.

"Well, I'm left-handed like Paicey and I've got the same Ludwig Silver Sparkle kit...."

"Some bands go for that and that's cool - it's just not us - I know some people like to see a band who look similar to the originals and admire those bands who make the effort, but personally I'd feel a bit foolish jumping around with a wig on...."

"Yeah, we are who we are (a subtle reference to the album 'Who Do We Think We Are' there!) - what you see is what you get!!!"

"The most important thing to us is the music - that's number one.       I think most music fans, when they go and see a band want to hear a good performance, and if they see the band are in to what they're doing, couldn't care less what they look like.       That's how I feel when I go and see a band anyway...."

So what do the band members themselves think of their band?

"Honestly, this is the best band I've ever been in...."

"No matter how often we play the songs, we all get off on it."

"We just enjoy what we do - it's as simple as that."
