The End Of An Era ... The Dawn Of A New Beginning
We are trying to put a brave face on it, but losing both Paul and Neil is a crushing blow - one which is hard to see how we will recover from. The spirit and cameraderie we felt as a band was second to none and we felt that we would continue making music together, in one form or another, for many years to come. This was a very special band for all of us and we hope that, in time, we'll be able to look back with fond memories on our time together.
Finding replacements for Paul and Neil will be hard, both physically and emotionally. Not only because they are such incredible talents, but because we all felt the band was the four of us, however, we're not ready to pack it in just yet, and if there is a chance of finding someone suitable, then we feel we have to at least give it a try.
We hope we can find suitable replacements and carry on as Taste Of Purple Mk II.

The End Of The Highway
It is with great sadness that we have to report that Neil and Paul are leaving the band.
Neil is reluctantly leaving due to concerns with his hearing. It is a great loss to us, but a decision we all fully understand, and our best wishes go to him and his family for the future. All the best mate.

Paul decided that it is also time for him to call it a day. Again, this is a massive loss. He is an exceptional guitarist - truly 'one in a million' - and an all round nice guy. We also wish him and his family all the best and hope we can stay in touch.

Times Making Changes
The band are going through changes and as a result all our future gigs have been cancelled. This does not mark the end of the band, but it could possibly be a new beginning! It is too early to go into details, but we hope to bring you more news on developments in the next couple of weeks.

We're Back!!
Now that's what I call a summer holiday! If only they all lasted for 6 months of the year... It's no secret that classic heavy rock is not the most fashionable or popular form of music around. The fact that's it is part of the best music that there is just shows what poor taste most people have!! As a consequence, we have a tough time getting gigs and an even tougher one getting people to come to them! Rather than pack it all in - after all, we do this for fun, not for the fame, fortune and rock stardom (which is just as well really!) - we've decided we might try something else as well as Taste Of Purple. We've had a few ideas that we're mulling over and we'll let you know when we get something finalised. (So don't hold your breath!!)

Baby Boom!
Congratulations to Neil and his wife who are expecting their second child around September. Unfortunately, this means we've had to cancel our gigs scheduled for around this time and we will probably not be booking any more gigs for the remainder of the year. More news on our future plans to follow soon...

Wolverhampton Gig Cancelled
We have had to cancel The Robin gig scheduled for Sunday 13th January due to illness. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause venue and ticket holders alike and hope we can re-schedule the date for later in the year.

Navigation Re-Navigated
Dates for The Navigation Inn, Nr Derby are being now being rescheduled for next year. This was within our control this time and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience we've caused the venue and gig-goers alike. On a positive note though, we will make up for it on our return..!

Coalville Gig Cancelled

You can find out all sorts of, well, quite frankly, totally useless information from, on, about and around each band member. They're free to write what they like so be warned!!! Coalville Gig
Thanks to everyone at The Vic for the opportunity to play such a great music and biker venue. We only wish we could get more people in to make it a great night all-round so that we could come back on a regular basis.
