NEXT GIG: Friday 23 May 2008 - STRATFORD, Warwickshire
A Midlands based band, Taste Of Purple was formed first and foremost by fans of Deep Purple's music.       The inspiration for the bands name comes from the highly under-rated album 'Come Taste The Band', which was released in 1975 and featured Tommy Bolin on guitar and, not unlike Purple themselves at this point in their rejuvenated career, the energy and enthusiasm that Taste Of Purple project on stage is clear when you see the band in a live situation.
Some of the band have been regularly joined on stage by Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake) as part of another project, and have also played as part of his backing band in support of his tribute album to Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac).       Other notable artists the with whom the band have crossed paths are Deep Purple's current keyboard player Don Airey (Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Rainbow, Michael Schenker and many other guest appearances) - swapping Hammond settings and phone numbers, among other things!

        What are these...?
Feedback from members of the audience and venues has been extremely positive and the band are starting to build a healthy following.       The band themselves are continually working on improving and molding their sound - experimenting with new ideas but never straying from the essence of their classic Purple sound.
This makes playing with and listening to the band more of a pleasure for band members and audience alike and, with so many great songs to choose from and a continually expanding set-list, you can be confident that when you see them for a second time you wont be presented with the same set - even if it's the following night!
