As Taste Of Purple Mk. I passes into the annuls of history, we hope to start of an exciting new chapter in our journey - the birth of Taste Of Purple Mk. II.

But it doesn't end there.     After Neil's departure we started working as a three-piece and spreading our wings in a new and wider direction, playing some great classic heavy rock tracks from many great bands and anything else that took our fancy, and with an eye on getting stuck into some original material too.     This is something we are still keen to continue and would like to develop alongside Taste Of Purple.

This band is all about having fun and playing some of the music we truly love, so we are looking for someone who is rock fan, first and foremost, with a penchant for Purple!     If this sounds like this might appeal to you, take a listen to some of our (rather old!) soundclips and videos and if you feel we're good enough to occupy the same stage as you then get in touch using the link below.

We are spread around North Oxfordshire and would be willing to travel for practices etc. if you are!

We're a pretty laid back bunch and fit the band in around everyone's schedules.     Work and family commitments dictate much of our practicing and gigging opportunities - generally, we aim to practice at least twice a month and four consecutive weeks before an upcoming gig.

This does NOT mean we are lacking in dedication - we have high standards that we strive not only to maintain, but push ever higher!

Gigs are few and far between!     Purple is not a fashionable band and consequently quality gigs can be hard to come by, but we're working on it!     We average somewhere around 6 gigs a year but would like to get this to around once a month, if possible.

Outside of Taste Of Purple, but equally important, we're looking at starting a new band.     This band will do more varied material - anything that takes our fancy - to allow us to develop our individual style and start writing original material.     We'd like both bands to feature the same members, but it's not essential.     Our musical tastes are quite diverse so the new band could take on many forms and styles.
